Birth of Samantha | Loveland, Colorado Birth Photographer

Imagine being told you would never have a child and then finding out they were wrong! In December I was the birth photographer for this amazing couple. Here is a little bit of their story, written by the mom.

We got married in 2009 and I noticed Matt was having strange symptoms.  He was unable to lose weight, even though he was training for a half marathon. He was exhausted all the time. He would be hot or cold even if everyone else was comfortable. The main problem was we couldn’t get pregnant.  We went to the doctors in Phoenix and the doctor said he had low testosterone and thyroid.  The doctor started him on a couple different medicines; however, he wasn’t getting any better.

When we moved to Colorado we went to the University Hospital and worked with world class doctors and they found he had a pituitary tumor causing all his problems. He had to get brain surgery to remove the tumor just a week after they found it.  We were told by the doctors he would have a long recovery and not be able to have children.  Just 8 weeks after Matt’s surgery we found out that I was pregnant.  His specialist were amazed by his recovery and told us it was a miracle that we were pregnant.  Therefore, Samantha was a gift from God and Matt’s health recovery has been remarkable.  Matt has been asked if his story could be wrote up in medical journals, because he is such an amazing recovery.

Seriously- what an amazing story.

For this birth I also incorporated video to tell Samantha’s birth story.

Wow! I really have no words… I know how this mom felt to believe you’ll never have children and this whoever thing made me cry. You did an absolutely fabulous job, especially under the not so great conditions of a hospital setting. She made it look so easy to give birth and you captured all that emotion
