This birth goes down as one of the longest births I have attended but also one of the most fun. Dad was completely supportive and attentive and Mom worked so hard to birth her gorgeous son. I think the fact that they are both incredible wedding photographers allowed them to feel totally comfortable in front of the camera.
I loved the staff at Presbyterian St. Lukes in Denver. They made me feel so welcome as a doula and as a photographer. One of the labor and delivery nurses even asked my advice on different non-medicinal comfort techniques.
One of my most favorite quotes from this birth was when the baby was about to be born and the Dad said, “Wow, I feel like I just worked 3 three weddings.” It made me smile and know that the work I was doing was going to be deeply appreciated.
